The Forada Market is situated in the Santa Inés area on an esplanade adjacent to the Can Tixedó bar’s car park. It is approximately located 5 kilometres away from the San Rafael and Santa Inés towns’ connecting road. This market operates every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all year round, primarily focusing on locally made, organic, and artisanal products from the island. This market is unique in that it does not offer second-hand clothing or goods imported from other countries; it is known for gathering Ibiza’s alternative essence.
The market offers a diverse range of organic soaps, flavoured oils, artisanal bread baked in a wood-fired oven, natural cosmetics, local wine or liqueurs, Ibizan honey, healthy food, handmade jewellery, homemade pastries, arts and crafts, and other unique art objects. The Cooperativa Integral de Eivissa and the Greenheart – Casita Verde project actively participate in maintaining and organizing the market, and both typically have stalls. One of the market’s distinctive features is that most vendors accept Ecos, Ibiza’s social currency, as payment.
At noon, visitors can enjoy a vegetarian paella made with local products at reasonable prices. Moreover, numerous healthy snacks are also available for purchase. The ambiance is lively and entertaining, although the market is not as crowded as other markets, and it is located in a quiet and secluded area. Visitors can enjoy a peaceful and friendly environment.
Live music performances are often held on Saturdays, and Solidarity Book Day is celebrated once a month to raise funds for the CIE’s activities by selling used books for one, two, or three euros. Many workshops for children are also organized on Saturdays, such as painting and creative recycling.
