Junior World Cooking Contest: A New Tradition in Gastronomic Excellence
February 2, 2024 @ 11:00

This year marks the exciting introduction of the first-ever Junior World Cooking Contest, exclusively for school and high school students on the island. Aimed at raising funds for the 6th-grade and 4th ESO student study trips, this contest invites participation from school teams. Each team, comprising a maximum of 15 students, should be under the guidance or accompaniment of adults, whether they are family members, parent association members, or educators from their school.
The competition promises attractive prizes for the top three teams: €1,000 for the first place, €500 for the second, and €250 for the third. To join the culinary challenge, teams are required to bring their own cooking ingredients and utensils, with a minimum of one kilogram of rice to be prepared.
Additionally, teams have the opportunity to set up a stall at the event to sell food items or crafts, further contributing to their study trip fundraising efforts. The event will be held on Friday, February 2nd, at s’Era d’en Manyà square, starting at 10 AM. In a gesture of hospitality, the organizers will treat all participants to a delightful breakfast of hot chocolate and churros.
For those interested in participating or seeking more information, registration details are available via email at festes@santantoni.net. This culinary event promises to be a blend of competition, creativity, and community spirit, offering a unique opportunity for young aspiring chefs to showcase their talents.
